Your data
Relay (developer: Ranen Poh). This page explains how to permanently delete your account and what happens to your data.
The fastest route. In the Relay app, go to Profile → Privacy & data → Delete account, then confirm. Deletion happens immediately; there is nothing to wait for and no request to approve.
If you are signed in here, you can do the same thing from your account page.
If you have uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we did it, email ranenpoh@gmail.com from the address on the account, with the subject “Relay account deletion request”.
We action these within 30 days, and in practice much sooner. We will reply to confirm once it is done. We ask you to write from the account’s own email address because it is the only way we can confirm the request is really yours — if that address is not reachable, say so in the message and we will find another way to verify.
Deleting your account removes:
This cascades — deleting the account deletes the data tied to it. It cannot be undone, and we cannot restore an account afterwards.
One thing survives deletion: the compliance archive. When a publisher broadcasts a message, Relay records that it was sent — a content hash, a timestamp, and the delivery outcome. That record is what makes the archive trustworthy as an audit trail, so it is retained even after an account is deleted. It does not contain your profile, and it is never used to contact you or to rebuild your account.
We may also retain records we are legally required to keep, such as billing and tax records for a paid subscription, for as long as the law requires.
Cancel your subscription before deleting your account, from billing settings. Deleting a Relay account does not by itself cancel billing, and we would rather you were not charged for something you can no longer use. If this catches you out, email us and we will sort it.
